You can support the Gambling Impact Society (NSW) by becoming a member. We are a registered health promotion charity (not-for-profit organisation) run by volunteers and professionals working in the field of problem gambling and social welfare. Membership is open to anyone who has an interest in the impacts of gambling in the community.

Why should you join?

Membership of the Gambling Impact Society (NSW) gives you the opportunity to play a role in raising awareness about the impacts of gambling harm in the community. Membership fees are used to develop our services and educational resources, including publication of the e-newsletter. You may also choose to get directly involved and use your time or skills to assist in the education, advocacy and support work of the Gambling Impact Society (NSW).

How much does it cost?

You can choose to become a financial or non-financial member. The categories of membership are:

  • Affiliate member – $0 p.a. Affiliate members can stay up-to-date with the work of the GIS by receiving a quarterly copy of the e-newsletter and other relevant information. Affiliate members cannot vote at the annual general meeting (AGM).
  • Individual member – $30 p.a. (student/concession $15 p.a email secretary@gisnsw.org.au for more info.). Individual members contribute financially to the ongoing work of the GIS and receive copies of the e-newsletter, invitations to conferences and forums relating to gambling issues and discounts on GIS hosted training. Individual members are eligible to join the GIS management committee and vote at the AGM.
  • Organisational member – $60 p.a. Organisational membership is open to Community Services, Health and Welfare Services, Gambling Help Services and other community focussed agencies who would like to contribute financially to the ongoing work of the GIS. A representative of an organisational member is eligible to join the GIS management committee and vote at the AGM.

Your membership runs to 30 June each year and we’ll contact you in advance each year to ensure your membership stays up to date.
